Free, written, six points

A free Google Ads check: six points, in writing, within 72 hours

The free Google Ads check is a one-page written read of an account that is already spending, covering six points, sent back within 72 hours of you approving a read-only access request, counted in working time, so a Friday afternoon approval comes back by Wednesday. It needs only your ten-digit customer ID. It is read by Daniel Stoychev, not run by a script, and it costs nothing because it is short; the full written audit at £150 is the longer version and this page says exactly where the line between them sits.

How it runs

  1. Send the form with your customer ID. Within one working day a read-only access request arrives in your account from our manager account.
  2. Approve it with one click. The 72 hours start here. Nothing in the account can be changed by us.
  3. Read the page that comes by email: six points, a finding under each, and one paragraph on what to do next. Then remove our access, or keep it and ask for the audit.

The six points

What the check reads, and what each point usually shows

Six places where a Google Ads account loses money quietly, chosen because each can be read in under an hour and each has a fix that costs nothing but time. The check names the finding under every point; it does not list the fixes in order, because that is what the audit is for.

  1. 1

    Search terms waste

The last ninety days of searches your ads showed for, sorted by cost. We count the rows that could never have bought from you and put a pound figure beside them.

  2. 2

    Negative keyword gaps

Whether there is a shared negative list at all, what is in it, and the ten searches that should be in it and are not.

  3. 3

    Conversion tracking

Whether the account counts anything, whether it counts the right thing once, and whether calls and forms are both in it. An account bidding on the wrong signal is the commonest finding.

  4. 4

    Landing page speed and form

The page each campaign lands on, measured on a phone: seconds until it is usable, whether the form works, whether the number is at the top.

  5. 5

    Ad assets

Sitelinks, callouts, call assets and the responsive search ad headline count per ad group. Empty asset slots are free space in the auction you are not using.

  6. 6

    Budget against CPC

Whether the daily budget can afford enough clicks at your cost per click to produce a lead most days, or whether the campaign runs out before lunch.

What it does not cover

The line between the free check and the audit

The check does not read the bid strategy or its learning status, does not audit match types keyword by keyword, does not rewrite ad copy or landing page copy, and does not produce a change list in the order we would apply it. Each of those takes hours, and hours are what the £150 pays for.

So the check answers “is money leaking, and roughly how much”. The written PPC audit answers “what exactly would you change, in what order, and what would each change do”. If you go from the audit to a monthly plan, the £150 comes off the £199 setup fee.

Who it is for, and who we turn away

Spending, and not sure the spend is working

The check is for an account that has been running for at least a month, on its own or with an agency, whose owner wants a second reader before changing anything. A brand-new account has no search terms to read, and the answer there is the setup, not a check.

We take one business per sector and area on the monthly plans, so if a business in your sector and area is already a client the check still comes back, but it says in the first line that a plan would not be offered. We do not run accounts for gambling, adult or short-term credit businesses and we do not check them either.

Request the check

Your customer ID, your spend, and the two firms whose ads sit above yours

The competitor field is optional and it makes the check better: the auction insights report shows how often those two outrank you and on which searches. The reply confirms whether your sector and area are free on the monthly plans, whatever the check finds.

Not spending yet? The check has nothing to read; start with the fee tiers and the setup, or the quote form, which asks what a lead is worth and replies with a plan from £249 a month.

One business per sector and area on the monthly plans, confirmed personally in the reply.

Top right of the Google Ads screen. We send a read-only access request to it; nothing changes until you approve.

No mailing list, no auto-dialler, no account access until you grant it. See the privacy policy.

Questions about the free check

What do you need from me for the free check?

The ten-digit customer ID from the top right of your Google Ads screen, and a click to approve the read-only access request that arrives from our manager account. You can remove the access the moment the check is back. No password, no card, no call.

Is 72 hours a promise?

Yes, in working time. The clock starts when the access request is approved, not when the form is sent. A request approved on a Tuesday morning is back by Friday morning; one approved on a Friday afternoon comes back by Wednesday, because nobody reads accounts at the weekend.

What is the difference between the free check and the £150 audit?

The free check is one page across six points, each with a finding and a sentence on what it means. The £150 audit at /ppc-audit reads the whole account for the best part of a day: match types, bid strategy, every conversion action, ad copy, the landing pages on a phone, and it ends with a change list in the order we would make it. The audit price is credited against the £199 setup fee if you go on to a plan.

Will you change anything in my account?

No. The access is read-only and the check is a document. If you want the changes made, that is either the audit followed by your own work, or a monthly plan where the setup fee covers the rebuild.

Will the check tell me to hire you?

It tells you what the six points show. If the account is clean, it says so and suggests you carry on as you are. If it is spending on searches that could never buy, it says how much and where. The next step is yours: the audit, a plan from £249 a month, or nothing.

Do you check Microsoft Ads or Meta accounts?

Microsoft Ads, yes, if you send the account number instead of or as well as the Google one; the reports are nearly the same. Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok, no. This site is search advertising on Google and Microsoft and the check stays inside that.

Send the customer ID. Six points come back in writing within 72 hours.

Read by Daniel Stoychev, no changes made, access removable the moment it is back. If the account is fine, the check says so.
